We were drawn to our home by the natural and secluded back yard and the large number of trees. The house is cool in the late spring, even with the windows open. We like the open kitchen and living area and have had many large parties there.
Park Crossing is great for families with the Recreation Club and pool, swim team, tennis courts, as well as the wide streets for walking, bike riding, skateboarding. The Women’s Club sponsors activities for Christmas and Easter, as well as Halloween. These build community spirit and are lots of fun.
Park Crossing is close to a number of very good grocery stores. We shop at Harris Teeter and the Fresh Market. Pasta and Provisions is a favorite Italian specialty store. Costco is a few miles away and is very popular. The airport is 20 minutes away, during rush hour, and Park Crossing has easy access to 2 interstate highways, when we want to travel.
I love the way Charlotte has kept changing over the many years that we have lived here. Charlotte has become much more diverse with many more restaurants, sports teams, cultural activities to fit any interest and taste. The schools are good, and there are good options in public, private and parochial schools near Park Crossing.
Charlotte is a great family town with many family-friendly activities and festivals–we particularly recommend the US National Whitewater Center and the Carolina Raptor Center as unique to our area. Of course, we have super recreational lakes for sailing, fishing, power-boating and, especially for us–rowing. The YMCA system is one of the strongest in the country and provides hundreds of programs for the entire family.
We love to eat at Sushi 101 on Park Rd, Ilios Noches, Nolen Kitchen, Roosters, and Georges Brasserie (for a special evening out). Vivace and Pisces at the Metropolitan are other favorites. Oh, and let’s not forget fabulous Good Food on Montford!!
